SIGNIS East Asia Conference 2015

Macau, Brussels, November 27th, 2015 (SIGNIS). Today starts the SIGNIS East Asia Conference 2015, at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau. The theme of the conference is “Social Justice and peace. How Church media could contribute in today’s society”.

Until November 30th, the Diocesan Social Communications Centre and the University of Saint Joseph are organizing the SIGNIS East Asia Conference 2015. Speakers including members from the Catholic media, scholars, priests and missionaries from Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong are invited to share their experiences. The conference explores how God’s Mercy, Justice and Peace are experienced through the work and services of the Church in East Asia.

The keynote speaker is Fr. Jerry Martinson, S.J. (KPS) and the other speakers are Sr. Haruko Ishikawa(Japan); Fr. Nicolas Jo Youngjun (Korea); Mr. Yat Ming Fung (Hong Kong); Dr. Francisco V. Pinheiro (University of Saint Joseph, Macau) and Sr. Stephana Wei (Signis Taiwan). The event will be moderated by Catherine Wong.

This conference is for principals, teachers, social workers, catechists, clergy, seminarians, university students and the general public.
