Tuesday 17 May 2016, by SIGNIS

Nigeria, May 17th, 2016 (SIGNIS). A training programme and a seminar took place on 7th and 8th May in the diocese of Ijebu-Ode in Nigeria. In total, 149 people participated in this event. Fr. Leo Awojinrin, Director of Social Communication and Project Director, delivered a welcome speech. Rev. Fr. Charles Soyombo and Mr. Lekan Olagunju presented the first two talks.

This seminar focused on types of communication (written communication, verbal and non-verbal communication), communication based on style and purpose, communication and mercy and parish communication strategy.

These programmes were urged because of the need to renew and enrich communication so that priests, religious, catechists, and pastoral agents, like members of Church societies can use it in their parishes. Its objective was to make use of modern gadgets on communication, become collaborators in the task of authentic evangelization and be able to organize similar training programmes in their parishes and localities.
