New technologies are shaping the future of our societies

May, 20th, 2016 (MattersIndia). The website MattersIndia published a really interesting article on the future of our societies with the rise of new technologies and the Internet everywhere. It states that many major industries will go bankrupt in the next decades because of new technologies.

For instance, in 1998, “Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85 percent of all photo paper worldwide. Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they went bankrupt.”

It will happen to other industries, because, according to the website, “software will disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years.” For instance, “Uber is just a software tool, they don’t own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world. Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don’t own any properties”, says the article.

All the major areas in our world will be challenged: car companies, insurance companies, real estate, electricity, health, business, agriculture, politics, education… If you want to read more about how those areas will be changed, click here and read the complete article.
