Manila, March 8th, 2016 (CBCP News). A programme of Radio Veritas receives today a Hildegarde Awards by the St. Scholastica College-Manila.

CBCPNews said that “the Manila archdiocese-run station will receive the award for outstanding achievement in the radio broadcast category for its programme ‘Veritas Pilipinas’”.

Veritas Pilipinas airs every weekday from 6 am to 8 am, and is anchored by Ms. Penelope Lanzona, Fr. Emmanuel Alfonso of Jesuit Communications, and Msgr. Pedro Quitorio of Areopagus Communications.

The programme is a magazine on the “social concerns of the Church”. “It is not limited to faith issues as it also tackles morality and pressing political matters”. There are interviews or discussions to complete news reports.

The Hildegarde Awards for Outstanding Women in Mass Media, organized by the Department of Mass Communication of St. Scholastica’s College, is named after the 12th Benedictine century saint, mystic, and healer Hildegarde von Bingen. This year’s awards ceremonies coincide with the celebration of international women’s day on March 8 at the St. Cecilia’s Hall of SSC.
