New Christian TV station in Pakistan

Thursday 17 March 2016, by SIGNIS

Karachi, March, 17th, 2016 (Ucan). A new Pakistani Christian TV station has been launched: Nai Zindagi. It will “serve a prophetic role in communicating God’s love and mercy”, said Archbishop Joseph Coutts of Karachi, who helped launch the channel on March 12.

He added "It is very significant and symbolic that the launching ceremony is taking place during the holy season of Lent, a time of renewal in our lives and the name of the channel spreads the message of the renewal in our lives."

Nai Zindagi will provide programmes on faith formation, social awareness and career guidance for young people.

Father Mario A. Rodrigues, rector of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, said “the station will help sick and older Catholics who can’t make it to church celebrate their faith”. He added "I am glad that our parishioners will also be able to see Eucharistic Celebration at their homes, they will be able to join prayers from their houses."
