SIGNIS Malaysia Launches WCD 2007 Poster Competition
Kuala Lumpur, February 21, 2007 (Signis Malaysia) - Once again SIGNIS Malaysia in collaboration with Cahayasuara Communication Centre (Catholic Communication Centre) is inviting Catholic communicators in Asia to take part in the WCD 2007 Poster Competition in conjunction with World Communications Day (WCD) 20 May 2007. The theme of WCD this year is “Children and Media: a Challenge for Education”.
The objective of the Poster Competition is to increase creativity and artistic participation in WCD. It is also to create greater awareness that posters are effective media of communication. It is hoped to draw the best concepts and ideas of Asia in order to create a single, yet plural message all across Asia.
the message for the 41st World Communications Day issued by the Vatican would be the guideline for conceptualizing and designing the poster (For full text visit: www.vatican.va/latest/latest_en.htm). Poster must focus on message (concept) and design (creativity) to best express the theme.
The poster design that best expresses and communicates the theme will be chosen as the winner. The panel of judges will base their selection on poster concept and creative expression.
The winning poster would be sent (by digital file) to all SIGNIS Asia members, who would be encouraged to adapt the design (to local realities) and reprint it locally for the WCD celebration. Closing date for this WCD competition is 20 April 2007
