WACC Photographic Competition 2006
Now in its thrid year, the Photographic Competition organised by the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) is inviting submissions of photographs interpreting the theme of "The Media and People".
There will be one first prize of USD $500 and five commendations of USD $200 each. The competition is open to all men, women and children, of all ages and from all countries. Entries from amateurs and professionals are welcome. There is no limit to the number of photographs that a person may enter, but no entrant may win more than one prize in the contest.
The closing date is 1 May 2006. The competition winners will be announced on World Communication Day, 8 May. A selection of entries will be exhibited in London and will be used in the WACC publications such as the website and the journal “Media Development”.
Photographs should be loaded to the WACC Flickr website: http://www.flickr.com/groups/wacc/->http://www.flickr.com/groups/wacc/]. Entries must be licenced under ’Creative Commons’ licence. Entries should have a short description of what the image shows and why it is relevant.
If the photographer has no access the web, the photographs can be sent by email to ec@wacc.org.uk with the subject: “WACC Photographic Competition”. The email should include
1) The name of the photographer
2) A caption of the image
3) A paragraph explaining why the photograph is significant and giving details of what it shows
4) An affirmation of being the copyright holder and that the photographer makes the image available under the protection of a Creative Commons licence.
