10th SIGNIS TV Producers Seminar in Costa Rica
Brussels, September 8, 2011 (SIGNIS) - The 10th SIGNIS Seminar for TV producers and broadcasters will be held in Costa Rica from the 3rd to the 6th October 2011, in collaboration with CELAM, the Council of the Bishops of Latin America.
The venue for the sessions and the accommodation will be the Casa Pastoral “María Inés Teresa Arias” in Cantón Moravia, San José de Costa Rica.
The seminar will feature international producers, broadcasters and head of programming of Catholic television presenting their programmes, initiatives and co-production opportunities. Mat Tombers, from Odyssey Networks, will present a keynote addres on new media, new audiences and the challenges faced by Catholic producers.
The program and the venue are promising an excellent opportunity to give strength to the networking that SIGNIS started eight years ago in the seminar of Cape Town. The aim was to build a network to share capacities, enable co-productions and build a professional community. Since then, seminars took place in Strasbourg (2004), Prague (2005), Lyon (2005), Madrid (2006), Bucharest (2007), Buenos Aires (2008), Chiang Mai (2009) and Luxemburg (2010).
