SIGNIS World Congress opens Registration to Individual Participants

(SIGNIS). Individuals willing to participate in the SIGNIS World Congress 2022 can register from June 1, 2022, through the website www.swc2022.net

Registration fee

The registration fee per participant is US$200

Accommodation

There are two accommodation options:

Sogang University dormitory: 5 nights, US$300 for a private room; US$200 for double occupancy. 

Four-star Garden Hotel: 5 nights, US$475 for a private room, breakfast included; US$287.50 for a double room, breakfast included.

Note: individuals who wish to stay at the Seoul Garden Hotel should contact Lee Ju-young (phone: +82-2-710-7185/e-mail: [email protected]). The hotel will offer the same price terms for participants who arrive before August 14 or want to stay after August 19 with a prior reservation.

Payment

The payment of the registration fee and hotel expenses will be accepted in cash (U.S. dollars) or by credit cards. Early-bird applicants who complete their entry forms by June 17 will be offered Starbucks coffee coupons for use in Korea only and some small gifts.

General information

The SIGNIS World Congress will take place in Seoul, South Korea, August 16-19, 2022, on the theme “Peace in the Digital World” as a hybrid conference of face-to-face and virtual meetings. 

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in the various programs and activities on the Metaverse platform or follow them live on YouTube, Zoom, and TV. The metaverse platform will open in mid-July.

Among the key speakers are 14 Korean and foreign experts, including Dr Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communications, and Dr Cynthia Moe-Lobeda, Professor of Theological and Social Ethics. The SWC will also offer two unique programs: the “World Journalist Forum” on the theme of “Peace in the Digital World” and the “International Youth Forum” on “Evangelization Strategy utilizing New Media”.

Cardinal Andrew Yeom Soo-jung and Archbishop of Seoul Peter Chung Soon-taick are Joint Honorary Chairmen of the SIGNIS World Congress 2022. The organizing committee is chaired by Daniel Han Seung-soo, former Prime Minister of Korea. A total of 116 ex- and current Catholic journalists, communicators and various experts are working as organizing committee members for the success of the Congress.
