"Stories from the soils": a collection of stories

Quebec, Brussels, January 20th, 2016 (SIGNIS/AMARC/Yenkasa Africa). From March to December 2015, through a partnership between the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) and the Office for Corporate Communication of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), journalists and producers of the AMARC network received logistical and financial support to produce stories on topics related to the International Year of Soils.

These productions from around the world contribute to the enrichment of knowledge and sensitize the population on soil-related issues. From loss of fertility to erosion, organic agriculture to the effects of monocultures, permaculture to soil composition, climate change and deforestation, various topics were discussed in several languages.

A total of 80 stories are available for streaming and download on the websites of AMARC and FAO. These stories can also be re-broadcast on community radios of the AMARC network.
