Media Education in Recife

Recife, March, 16th, 2016 (ANS). Since the beginning of 2015, the Salesian Institute Sagrado Corazón of Recife, in Brasil, has made available to the educational community the opportunity to experience a different way of educating, through Radio Don Bosco and the TV Studio.

The basic idea of the project is to train young people with new critical capabilities in learning and changing the way students and other members of the educative community receive inputs from the current social media.

The two projects are based on the Theory of Mediation and intend to contribute to reflection and practice on Edu-communication in school. The emphasis of these tools is the role of "mediation" and reinforces the idea of educating to learn how to receive.
Edu-communication is not opposed to the use of the media; on the contrary, precisely because it recognizes the presence and influence of the media in everyday life it seeks to educate people in the use of media.
