Meeting of the Indonesian Bishop’s Conference

Jakarta, April, 21st, 2016 (Fides). The Indonesian Bishops’ Conference has launched a new initiative: a week of reflection, with pastoral and social implications, on the theme "Communication and Mercy: a fruitful meeting", chosen by the Pope for World Day of Social Communications, 2016.

From 2 to 8 May, priests, lay people, theologians and pastoral workers will get together on the island of Nias, in the diocese of Keuskupan-Sibolga.

The week includes workshops and seminars, training sessions, reflection and spirituality, next to "media training" and social network management, debates among pastoral workers, thanks to the presence of experts.

"Every year the Catholic Church celebrates the Day of Communications. We are entering a golden age for the Church’s attention to pastoral work in social communication", says a note of the Indonesian Bishops Conference sent to Agenzia Fides, which announces the initiative.
