Brussels, October 7, 2019 (Faludi Akademia) The 22nd Faludi International Film Festival and Photo Competition will take place between November 27 and 30 in Budapest, Hungary, with the presence of an Ecumenical Jury for the very first time.
The Faludi Ferenc Academy has announced its 22nd thematic international film festival and the related photo competition. This year’s theme, Calling, challenges people’s vocations, the motives behind their actions.
Competitors are invited to process this theme in the form of a film or photo. The festival is looking for professionally demanding elaborated works that are suitable for creating a forum for a dialogue between different viewpoints and opinions. It is essential for the films and photos to have an original message which they express through the language of pictures.
The deadline for entry and submission is 18 October 2019. For more details, see https://faludiakademia.hu/filmfestival2019-calling/.
In 1996, the Faludi Ferenc Academy created a thematic film competition and festival to promote amateur filmmakers. In recent years miracle, sacrifice, mercy, trust, loyalty, thirst and love have been chosen as the theme of the festival, just to name a few.
The Faludi International Film Festival and Photo Competition is organized by the laic fellow workers of the Jesuit religious order without any kind of direct religious intentions. Everyone is welcome regardless of race, age or religion.
The films entered are first short-listed by a pre-jury. Around 40-50 films are selected for the competitive section. The prizes are awarded in different categories: short feature, experimental, documentary films. There are also special prizes such as best first film director or best film directed by a film student.
