San Sebastián, September 27, 2020 (SIGNIS). The 68th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival took place from September 18 to 26, 2020, with the presence of a SIGNIS Jury.

The SIGNIS Jury, composed of Edorta Kortadi (Spain), Vincent Mirabel (France) and Lucía González-Barandiarán (Spain), awards the SIGNIS Prize to Druk (Another Round) by Thomas Vinterberg (Denmark, 2019).

The Jury finds that the film is a faithful Portrait of a society devoid of human values, seeking its way through drugs and alcohol – easy and short-term solutions that do not solve internal tension or emotional problems, but rather aggravate them.

Vinterberg's new film is a balanced one, for all audiences, which begins as a comedy then turns into a drama. The progression of the main character, Martin (Mads Mikkelsen) shows a man who wants and needs a change to move forward in his professional life, and especially in his troubled family and marital life.

The reflection on the need to accept and embrace one's own weakness and limitations to love others truly is relevant.

This excellent Danish film highlights the director's benevolence towards friendship and the integral development of any personality, regardless of age or environment.
