Podcasting and the power of audio storytelling: a training course by SIGNIS Services Rome
October 20, 2020 (SIGNIS Africa). SIGNIS Africa organises a virtual workshop to train young Catholics to become Citizen Journalists of Hope (CJH). This project is inspired by the thoughts of Pope Francis when he described the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ‘Contagion of Hope’
The three-week workshop will provide participants with the knowledge of video journalism, including the techniques for capturing, editing and uploading audio-visual products to digital platforms.
Successful participants will receive SIGNIS Africa Certificates and form the pool of Citizen Journalists of Hope. They will be given specific assignments to capture and produce inspiring stories from around the continent which will be evaluated by experts.
The best male and female producers will also be sponsored by SIGNIS Africa to take part in the SIGNIS World Congress in South Korea in 2022.
Training will be conducted online in the months of November and December 2020 in French and English, with 15 participants from the two linguistic groups.
Intending participants must be baptised Catholics who are between the ages of 18-30 years. They must have access to a functional PC or Smartphone for the virtual workshop. Proficiency in spoken and written English is also required.
